Dr. Harper is a native Kentuckian. He practiced as a chemical engineer in the nuclear power industry prior to medical school. After his medical education at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2003, he finished his ophthalmology residency and retina fellowship at the world-famous Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. He was then selected by the faculty for a one-year appointment as Chief Resident following fellowship. When not seeing patients, Dr. Harper enjoys film, theater, martial arts and spending time with his family.
