What Is LAL – Light Adjustable Lens™?

How Does It Work?

Cataract Surgery: A patient’s natural lens is removed and replaced with a clear synthetic one. The procedure usually takes approximately 15 minutes. If you have cataracts in both eyes, each eye is usually done on separate days.
Healing Time: You’ll heal for a few weeks to let your eye(s) recover before beginning the fine-tuning process of customizing your vision to best fit your lifestyle.
Vision Adjustments: After healing, your doctor uses a special light to precisely reshape your lens based upon the visual correction that is needed to target your custom prescription.
Lock It In: Once your vision feels perfect, a final light treatment locks the lens in place.
